Adelaide High School’s Music program offers an unforgettable experience for everyone. Students can begin music in high school with years of experience, or having never played before.
In Year 7, all students are invited to take part in the School's instrumental program. Students take part in weekly lessons with some of Adelaide’s best musicians and innovative teachers, learning skills that set them up for life. Our instrumental teachers pride themselves on caring for individuals by putting student needs at the forefront of their learning.
We offer instrumental lessons in the following:

A large selection of opportunities are available within our co-curricular band program where student agency is at the forefront of their learning. Every ensemble has a student leader that helps shape the direction and opportunity of the band. Performance is a big part of our curriculum and so all of our ensembles perform at different events throughout the year.
Students can audition to join an ensemble during term 4 or early in the year if new to the school.

- Soul/funk student led ensembles
- Musical ensembles (plays as part of the biannual musical production)

Students at Adelaide High School are provided with various Performing Arts opportunities outside of day to day school life. Our teaching emphasis in the Arts is directed towards promoting individuality, teamwork, the generation of creative ideas and activities, performance, problem solving, the development of aesthetic values, the development of various Arts skills and an appreciation of the Arts in a variety of cultures and settings. Performing Arts opportunities include musicals, dance performances, drama productions and music nights.
