Adelaide High School has a highly regarded International Program.

The school has a range of programs designed to provide students from overseas with the opportunity to gain a world class education and valuable life experience in South Australia. Apply through International Education Services http://www.internationalstudents.sa.edu.au

Intensive Secondary English Class (ISEC)

The ISEC program is a one semester program designed to increase English skills proficiency while gaining knowledge and understanding of the Adelaide High School curriculum and Australian lifestyle and culture. This enables a smooth and successful entry into mainstream classes. It is a small class of 10 – 14 students. Students gain SACE Stage 1 credits for this program, but it is offered at the Year 10 level.

High School Graduate Program

Students first do a semester of the ISEC program (described below) and then enter mainstream classes with local students. The ISEC program is tailored for students at Year 10 level and is highly recommended.

Following ISEC, the successful completion of Year 11 and Year 12 subjects enables students to gain their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

High School Study Abroad Program (short-term visits)

International students may choose to stay for a short experience studying at Adelaide High School. The school year is divided into four school terms so choosing to join for one or more of the four terms is recommended.

School Study Tours

We regularly host School Study Tours from overseas. International schools hoping to bring student groups to visit Adelaide High School should negotiate with International Education Services: http://www.internationalstudents.sa.edu.au

Typical programs offered to visiting schools include bespoke English classes, experiences of mainstream lessons, opportunities to meet and connect with local students and excursions in and around Adelaide.

International Ambassadors

A key focus for this student group is to welcome and support the International Students throughout their stay here. International Ambassadors organise social events for international students and whole school intercultural events. There is a strong commitment to developing international mindedness and intercultural skills capability within the school and this group leads in this area and highly values the membership and input of international students.
